Anna
As a Family Support Specialist, Anna delivers Family SkillBuilders’ core services including one-on-one parent coaching and mentoring in the homes and communities of the families we serve, developing healthy family functioning that keeps children safe, teaching household management skills, and addressing safety issues for families with children at home or returning to the home.
Anna also works in our Parenting Groups. Our groups staff support parents’ visitations with their children by providing transportation, activities, equipment, and supplies.
Anna’s favorite part of working with families is collaborating with them to achieve their goals and celebrating the success stories that follow — often the result of a little organization, effort, and encouragement. She is driven by seeing families develop stronger bonds, build a better understanding of child development, and grow more confident in their parenting practices.
She holds a BA in Psychology from Cal Poly Humboldt, with an emphasis in behavioral neuroscience, cognition, and development. She is especially proud of her time as a Family Advocate with Head Start, where she gained valuable experience working in culturally diverse communities, practicing trauma-informed care, conducting home visits, and connecting families with community resources.
In her free time, Anna enjoys playing with her dogs, dancing, playing sports, and lifting weights. She’s also a big Portland Thorns fan, and loves going to the games with her fiancée and friends.
