As a Safe Visitation & Exchange Facilitator, Casandra supports families impacted by domestic violence, and helps provide a safe, secure, and inviting environment for parents who are unable to have unsupervised contact with their children, while maintaining a survivor and child led focus.

Casandra got into this line of work because she enjoys helping families navigate some of the most stressful times in their lives — offering encouragement, a listening ear, and a steady presence. She’s motivated by the chance to help families through important transitions while giving back to her community, and finds the most fulfillment in watching families grow: parents and children reconnecting, celebrating progress, and gaining confidence over time. She meets every family where they are, creating a welcoming environment for all.

While her professional background is in the legal field rather than traditional social services, she brings over 5 years of experience working closely with families and parents, particularly within the Latino community — building trusted relationships and helping them navigate the legal process. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Chicano Studies from Portland State University, which deepened her understanding of the communities she serves.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Bruno, exploring the Oregon Coast and discovering hidden food gems.
