As a Family SkillBuilders’ Board Member, Mercedes is responsible for fiscal oversight, providing strategic direction and governance, donor outreach, and tasks as requested by the Executive Director. 

Mercedez brings personal and professional experience to her work on the Family SkillBuilders’ Board. Addiction affected her life growing up and she knew she wanted to break those generational cycles when she became a parent.  Mercedez found no handbook with advice or instructions and recognizes that parents shouldn’t have to figure it out all on their own.   

She is passionate about sharing the support that the Family SkillBuilders team provides and the incredibly positive impact it has on families in the community.   

Mercedez is a licensed health and employee benefits insurance producer in Oregon and Washington with nearly 10 years of experience helping employers navigate their employee benefits.   

When she is not working, her favorite activity is spending time with her family exploring Oregon and foraging for mushrooms. Mercedez loves to travel and experience new places, making memories with her family.
