Miriam Won

Board President

Miriam is a Co-Founder at Kizimani. As Co-President of the Family SkillBuilders’ Board, Miriam is a primary contact for the Board, presides at board meetings, helps create agendas, appoints committees, sets goals and objectives, and supervises all business and organizational affairs.

Miriam is excited that Family SkillBuilders will continue to do amazing work with children who find themselves in challenging situations through no fault of their own. She is equally delighted that Family SkillBuilders can provide the necessary parenting skills and support to parents involved in the child welfare system as they work at being healthy physically and mentally so they may care for their children.

Miriam worked as a Parenting Consultant for Family SkillBuilders for 12 years and is the cofounder of Kizimani, a nonprofit that does development work among marginalized communities in Kenya. Kizimani supports education and investment in small scale sustainable income-generating projects that break the cycle of poverty.
When she is not working, Miriam enjoys going out to coffee with friends.
