As the Operations Assistant, Sophie provides essential behind-the-scenes operations that keep our family-centered services running smoothly, including human resources, recruiting, legal documentation and office logistics. They also support the Development Department with events and volunteer coordination.

Sophie is driven by a lifelong awareness of injustice and its impact on vulnerable communities. Rather than stand by, they have spent nearly a decade (since 2017) working across nonprofits in education and academic freedom, LGBTQIA+ rights, environmental justice, and social justice — always seeking to be part of meaningful change. 

In their role as Operations Assistant, they are motivated by the understanding that healthy families are the foundation of healthy communities, and finds purpose in supporting both the families served by our agency, and the staff who work directly with them.

Sophie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political and Administrative Sciences. A career highlight was serving as a spokesperson at the IX Summit of the Americas for the “Our Green Future” working group, and leading advocacy efforts with United Nations Human Rights Council member missions at UN headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys spending time with their loved ones, exploring the outdoors, and visiting the Oregon Coast.
