As a Safe Visitation & Exchange Facilitator, Thorn supports families impacted by domestic violence, and helps provide a safe, secure, and inviting environment for parents who are unable to have unsupervised contact with their children, while maintaining a survivor and child led focus.

Thorn brings both professional training and personal understanding to their work in social services. Having seen first-hand what it means to navigate family struggles and hardship, they are driven by a simple belief: everyone deserves someone in their corner, showing up the way they once needed someone to show up for them.

Thorn is pursuing their BS in Social Work (2026) and MSW (expected Spring 2027) at Portland State University. They have four years of experience in social services, including previous work as a resource navigator supporting people experiencing homelessness.

Their favorite part of the work is watching kids adapt, build confidence, and rediscover joy in a safe, structured environment after family conflict.

Outside of work and school, Thorn unwinds with crafty hobbies — mostly crochet and sewing.
