I advocate and encourage families to refer themselves to Family SkillBuilders. It’s such a powerful experience, and it’s okay to ask for help before becoming so overwhelmed.

Parents as Teachers
Our Family Support Specialists work toward the PAT vision to promote the optimal early development, learning and health of children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers.
We partner with families to provide:
- Increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve positive parenting practices
- Provide early detection of developmental delays and connection to services
- Prevent child abuse and neglect
- Increase children’s school readiness and success
- Improve parent, child, and family health and well being
- Improve family economic well-being
- Strengthen community capacity and connectedness
- Additionally, we partner with States, Territories and Tribal Entities to develop and implement home visiting programs that improve the health and well-being of families with young children
